  • JMS Fox Tanashiana Brunson Wins 43” TV

    42" TV winner

    8th grader Tanashiana Brunson is the proud winner of the 43” TV drawing.  All of the past year's Foxes of the Week were eligible for the drawing. This Beautiful TV was donated by the New Year New Communities Give Back Committee, a local organization that promotes caring and sharing in Marion County.  Thank you, NYNCGBC, and congratulations, Tanashiana!

  • 8th Grade Advancement Ceremony

    8th Grade Advancement Ceremony

    The rising Class of 2013 held its 8th Grade Advancement Ceremony on June 4th, 2019.  Our 8th graders advanced to 9th grade and high school to a packed gym of proud parents, geandparents, siblings, aunties, uncles, and friends.  Our Welcome was presented by Mihika Patel, the Pledge of Alliegance was led by Javori Wright, and Hannah Coleman was our Student Hall of Fame Honoree.  Mrs. Skipper presented the many awards and honors bestowed upon our students from the state level on down.   See more in our Gallery here

  • Fox Games Bring Day of Fun!

    Fox Games

    The JMS Students and staff participated in a great day of fun, beginning with the Fox Games series of relay races where students and grade competed against one another for bragging rights.  Lunchtime brought the yearbook unveiling and signing.  The afternoon brought a lively game of dodgeball in the gym, students vs. teachers.  Perfect weather, perfect reward for completing these past weeks of testing.

  • JMS Spring Concert Entertains

    JMS Chorus at Spring Concert

    JMS faculty, friends and family were treated to a wonderful Spring Concert.  The chorus, under the guidance of Ms. Lavette Timmons, performed exciting songs with group and soloist parts.  The band played favorite pieces and band director Ms. Amber Tededino gave out awards of excellence to band members. A great time was had by all.

  • JMS Library Receives DonorsChoose Grant

    New Books from DonorsChoose! Our library has received a DonorsChoose grant to of tnew books for the JMS media center library, and is pleased to report that the project was 100% funded through the generosity of the Barker Family of Mt. Pleasant, SC.  This year and for many years to come our students will be enjoying a  wonderful collection of the books they crave.  Included are the popular Who Is/Was…” biography series, and acollection of the “39 Clues” series, Our students are over the moon with anticipation  and can’t wait to check out these books!

  • Four JMS Students Qualify for Duke TiP Program

    Duke TiP Scholars Congratulations to our Duke TiP (Talent Identification Program) 2018 - 2019 7th Grade Talent Search qualifiers!  They are: Parker Bailey (ELA, Science) , Marvin Gause (Math), Faith Hill (ELA), and Jada Leonard (Math).

    Students are identified based on their SCREADY and SCPASS performance in Grades 5 or 6. These students are now eligible to take the SAT or ACT assessment and will be recognized for exceptional academic achievement, and possibly be named as a 2019 South Carolina Junior Scholar.

  • Mr. Ford, Emerging Teacher for 2018 Mr. Marcus Ford is Marion County's Emerging Teacher for 2018!

    Each year Marion County Schools honors a first-year techer who exemplifies the best and brightest in the field of education.  JMS is proud to present our 7th and 8th Grade Social Studies teacher Marcus Ford as the Emerging Teacher for 2018!  Mr. Ford was announced at the MCSD end-of-year assembly to the enthusiastic cheers of his fellow JMS Foxes. Here he poses with proud mom and MCSD Intructional Coach Ms. LaTonya Yates-Ford. Way to go, Mr. Ford, you are Fox Pride at its finest!
