I was born in Conway and moved to a little town named Effingham, in Florence County.  I attended South Florence High School and graduated double cord in 2000.  I then attended Francis Marion University and graduated Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History in 2004.  From 2000-2004 I was an intern Evidence Room Custodian at Florence County Sheriff's Office.  I went full time with the Sheriff's Office in July, 2004.  I attended the SC Criminal Justice Academy in 2005.  I became a Crime Scene Investigator and SWAT operator in 2005, as well.  I also served as an entry team member on the Hazardous Materials (COBRA) team.  I rose to become the assistant Team Leader (entry team) for the SWAT Unit.  I left the Sheriff's Office in 2012 and enrolled in the Surgical Technology program at Florence Darlington Tech.  I left FDTC and began a career in firearms retail.  In 2017, I was able to enroll in the PACE program and began my teaching career at Southside Middle School.  From 2018-2021, I worked in a firearm manufacturing facility and then back to retail firearm sales.

I am married to a High School English Teacher, Jessica.  I have twin sons who are 11 years old.  They have a disease called Cystic Fibrosis, but are amazingly healthy.  I also have a step-daughter who is 16.  I enjoy shooting sports, working in my shop, and travelling.  I am a living historian who represents the common soldier of both the North and the South, during the time of the American Civil War.

I joined the staff at Johnakin in 2021, teaching 6th and 7th grade social studies.  I am thrilled to be back teaching 7th grade world geography at Johnakin this year.  I look forward to teaching your scholars this year!!!
