JMS Students Celebrate National Dot Day
JMS will be participating in Dot Day for the 2017-2018 school year. Dot Day is an internationally celebrated day created by educators that recognizes and promotes creative teaching. Creative teaching is not just important to art, but to all subject areas as it encourages student engagement and helps them "connect the dots" across all content areas as they explore their self-expression. In art, students are learning about Pop Art and creating Lichtenstein inspired portraits with using Ben-Day dots. We have just wrapped up learning about Aboriginal art and culture and have worked on dot paintings. Remember, it all begins with a dot! How will you make your mark today?
