Welcome
The Office of Exceptional Children provides ongoing support to students, parents, teachers, and administrators. Social work services, health services, and psychological services are available to facilitate student access. The coordination and supervision of special education programs, including preschool disabilities, is also an integral part of this office. Marion County School District provides a full continuum of special education programs and services to best meet our district's vision of education, prepare, and inspire!

Mission and Purpose
The Purpose of the Marion County School District Office of Exceptional Children Is to Complement the General Education Curriculum so That Students with Disabilities Receive a Free, Appropriate, Public Education in the Least Restrictive Environment and Educate, Prepare, and Inspire Students to Be Productive Citizens in a Changing Global Society.
Marion County Office of Exceptional Children Meets the Individual Needs of Students Ages 3-21 Who Qualify for Special Education and Related Services in Accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Act (Idea).
In Collaboration with Teachers, Schools, Therapists, Practitioners, and Psychologists, the Marion County School District Office of Exceptional Children Serves 675 Students with Special Needs.
