Dear Parent/Guardian: For the dates of November 17 - December 4, 2020, Marion County School District will be asking parents to communicate their intentions for second semester of the 2020-21 school year. An electronic form will be available for completion online to express whether students would like to choose Virtual Academy or Hybrid/Traditional/Remote Instruction. If you do not complete the form, your placement will remain the same. Please take note that December 4, 2020 is the deadline for your decision. Students will not have another opportunity to change instructional models. The electronic form will be available online through the Marion County School District website. The form will also be emailed to all parents that have an email associated with PowerSchool. We will continue to communicate through all avenues possible to remind families of this opportunity. If you do not re-register your child through this online form, he or she will remain in his or her current choice of instructional model for the remainder of the year. After December 4, 2020, schools will then work to reallocate teaching staff and student assignments throughout the month of December to accommodate as many changes as possible. All change requests may not be granted. Parents opting for a change in placement (to or from Virtual Academy) may expect a response from their school on or before January 20, 2021. The second semester placement will begin January 29, 2021.
