CBSA School Counseling Services:
Mission Statement: It is our mission to provide a safe environment where students can talk about their feelings and concerns; As well as receive support with developing healthy relationships and building a positive self-concept.
➢ Individual Counseling Support Is offered to students needing to talk with a counselor in confidence about a personal and social problem as well as a crisis matter.
➢ Group Counseling Is available to allow small groups of students who have similar problems to discuss those issues in a group setting.
➢ Classroom Guidance Is provided as needed on topics such as bullying, study skills, and career planning.
➢ Consultation Services provided for students, parents, and/or teachers to discuss strategies to meet the student’s needs.
➢ Referrals are made to agencies when students and their families need additional support.
➢ Career Guidance is available to all students consisting of computer-based career interest assessments, that students may use to research career opportunities.
➢ We conduct IGP Conferences with every 8th grade student and a parent or designee. The IGP, Individual Graduation Plan, is a written plan that guides students towards their education, career, and employment goals.
➢ We conduct Goal Setting Conferences with each 6th and 7th grade student and a parent to discuss their academic/career goals.
