• Hello Mustang Family! My name is Shauna Stanton and it is my pleasure to serve as your Assistant Principal this school year.

I am a native of Florence, South Carolina. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English from Francis Marion University and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Coker College. I also attended Cambridge College to obtain a Master of Education in Educational Leadership.

I have had the opportunity to teach 2nd through 5th grade. My last four years have been right here at McCormick Elementary teaching 4th grade. In addition, I have taught in Horry County Public Schools and Richmond City Public Schools in Virginia.

I am a mother of three adult children- Assata, Kai, and Jihad, and a grandmother to one-Miss Joie. When I am not at work, I enjoy going to the beach, painting, writing stories, and traveling.

Here at McCormick, it is our mission to prepare ALL students to work effectively, responsibly, and productively within our society. My hope is that my efforts will inspire every student to make EPIC gains in their learning.

Let us work hand in hand to create a positive and enriching experience for every member of our school community. Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education, and I am confident that together, we will inspire greatness and achieve remarkable success.

    Ms. Stanton
