Ms. Shaday Cash Champion

I am from Cheraw, South Carolina and currently live in Bennettsville, which is a small town adjacent to Cheraw.  I graduated from Cheraw High School in 2003 and earned my Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2009 from Francis Marion University, where I also minored in Chemistry.  After my undergraduate work, I went back to Francis Marion University and earned my Master of Arts in Teaching in 2011.  My first year of teaching was at Palmetto Middle Shool in Mullins, South Carolina.

I believe students learn science by doing science, and that my classes are a medium through which my students will learn life skills that are critical for their success in college and future careers.  As our students must be prepared to work cooperatively in a global and technological society where many of them will eventually hold jobs, I emphasize critical thinking and problem solving. Using our science content to develop good evidence-based reasoning and communication skills.

In short, my teaching philosophy is: Diligent, motivated students who are responsible for their own learning will become autonomous thinkers, discerning moral agents, and engaged citizens.
