The MCSD has posted the Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan

On March 11, 2021, the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act was signed into law. The US Department of Education is providing an additional $121.9 billion for the Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund (ESSER III Fund). These grants will be awarded across each state to provide local educational agencies with emergency relief funds to address the impact that COVID-19 has had, and continues to have, on elementary and secondary schools across the nation.

South Carolina will receive $2,112,051,487 from ESSER III of which Marion County School District will receive $ 22,419,589 to be used across the district with specific guidelines.  At least 20% of this money must be allocated to activities that address student learning loss.  The remaining funds may be budgeted and expended on other allowable activities/categories.  As a requirement of ESSER III, each district had to complete a Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan. Our plan is posted to the district’s website for public review.  The Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan
