Welcome to 5th Grade, I am excited to begin the year and teach your young scholar. I have HIGH expectations, and students’ educational gains are important to me. I know all students can learn and make gains; therefore, my classroom will be one with rigor, consistency, strict routine and organized chaotic fun.
The classroom environment will focus on positive reinforcement and student responsibility. STUDENTS SHOULD BE PREPARED TO LEARN.
This is my third year in the 5th grade at McCormick Elementary. Prior to teaching at McCormick, I was a Curriculum Director in Warren, Ohio, and I have taught students ranging from elementary, middle and high school.
I graduated from Capella University with a Master Degree in Literacy, and I received my Bachelor Degree in Education from Youngstown State University.
I am married, and I have four children and three grandchildren. When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, traveling, shopping and spending time with my family.
I consider myself a life-long learner, and I hope to instill the love of learning in your child.
