Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (B.A) Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in Social Studies Education (M.A.T)

Ms. Kelsey Dudley

It is my pleasure to have you as a part of my classroom community!  Whether you are a student, parent, guardian, or visitor- thank you so much for stopping by!  My name is Kelsey Dudley.  I am a Social Studies instructor here at Mullins High School.  I take pride in my profession as well as the academic performance of my students.  I received an undergraduate degree in Political Science (Cum Laude) from Coastal Carolina.  I later attended school at the Charlotte School of Law.  After a few years, I decided to receive my master's degree in teaching with a concentration in social studies education from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.  I am currently enrolled in studies to receive my doctoral degree in Educational Leadership. I am entering my sixth year of teaching.

My goals as a teacher are to encourage mastery as well as critical thinking skills.  I want my students to understand basic content before we move more in depth with the material. I am a firm believer of the cohort that pushes for social studies as a social science and includes those who want a larger place for teaching of the social science disciplines in schools and those who support a structure-of-the-disciplines approach (Evans, 2006).

Teaching is important to me and has always been important to me because of the positive impact I desire to have on my students.  As an educator, I believe that we are always trying to maintain and reconstruct a democratic society, in which education is essential (Stanley, 2005).

During my spare time, I enjoy coaching basketball and softball, crafting, playing music,  travelling, spending time with my family, and working in the Funeral Services profession.  If I can be of any assistance to you or the student, please don't hesitate to reach out to me via email at kdudley@marion.k12.sc.us.
