Mrs. Rita Lewis Smith

Greetings:

Welcome to Marion High School, home of the Mighty Swamp Foxes! We are looking forward to a positive, productive, safe and successful 2023-2024 school year. Our goal is to cultivate excellence in our students and to empower them to become responsible, productive citizens of a global society. It is our desire that every student will graduate from Marion High School College and Career Ready.

The faculty and staff at Marion High School are committed to providing a learning environment that engages and challenges students to meet or exceed the expectations of the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. In addition to college preparatory classes, students have the opportunity to participate in Dual Enrollment college credit classes and Advance Placement Classes. This year, we are excited to offer additional programs for our students to receive certifications at the Academy for Careers and Technology through our partnership with Florence Darlington Technical College.

Our commitment to student engagement extends beyond the classroom. We offer a variety of sports, clubs, activities and organizations in which students are encouraged to become involved. Our Student Government Association, Band and Army JROTC programs are key components of our campus activities. Additionally, we are proud sponsors of the Back-Pack Buddies program in our district.

Since its founding in 1975, Marion High School has had a rich tradition of pride and academic excellence; we will continue this legacy. We believe the success of our school is contingent upon parent and community support and involvement. Please join us. Our School Improvement Council, and Foxes Mentoring Program are a few of the opportunities for you to become involved.

We look forward to seeing you and to working with you this year as we Cultivate Excellence.

As always, We are Foxes…….
