  • Greetings, Parents and Guardians of Grade 8 students! It is time to begin Indiviudal Graduation Plan (IGP) Conferences. Students were given a letter by Ms. Dozier, Career Specialist, on November 20, 2018 to bring home which will provide parents and guardians more information about this required conference. See below for this letter. Please call Ms. Dozier at ext 3410 to schedule a conference for your child. Available times will be 8:15 AM - 2:30 PM. Face-to-face conferences with a parent or legal guardian must be completed by April 12, 2019 in order for your student to participate in the Advancement Ceremony. Other criteria are listed on page 16 of the Student Handbook.

  • Congratulations to our 6th grade 2018 Duke TiP (Talent Identification Program) 4th – 6th Grade Talent Search qualifiers! They are Kevin Ren (Math) and Elijah Waters (Social Studies). We are very proud of Kevin and Elijah for their academic achievements. Through this enrollment, they will be offered academic enrichment benefits and accelerated learning programs though Duke University, and are eligible to participate in above grade level testing (PSAT 8/9 test administration). Congratulations, Kevin and Elijah!

    Students are identified based on their SCREADY and SCPASS performance in Grades 5 or 6. These students are now eligible to take the SAT or ACT assessment and will be recognized for exceptional academic achievement, and possibly be named as a 2019 South Carolina Junior Scholar. Greetings and welcome to Johnakin Middle School Counseling Department! I am Amy Sanders and I am the School Counselor.  I am a proud graduate of Clemson University, home of the 2017 National College Football Champions! Go Tigers! I have Master's Degrees in Educational Leadership and School Guidance Counseling. I also hold certification as a Global Career Development Facilitator. I am married to Tillman Sanders, Sr., and we have two sons. Tillman, Jr. is a United States Navy Sailor and Brandon is a Junior Biology Major and Presidential Scholar. I enjoy reading, spending time with my family and friends, and shopping.
