***** Dear parents, guardians, and students,

During these difficult times I think it's more important than ever to stay grounded and to exercise the most magnificent organ on the planet - our brain! Toward that end, I have uploaded several assignments that students may work on if they desire.  Please understand that this work is optional. It will not be graded and cannot be substituted for the Grab and Grow learning packets distributed by Marion County School District.  This is purely supplemental material intended to challenge students who may be bored and in need of something more to do.  Thank you for your support and I hope and pray that everyone stays safe and remains healthy.  You are welcome to email me with any questions or to send in answers to the problems.  *****

I am excited about beginning my thirteenth year in teaching, and my fifth here in Marion County. Prior to that I taught eight years in Horry County.  This year also marks my fourth year of working exclusively with gifted and talented students through our ExCEL (Exceptional Children, Exceptional Learners) program. I enjoy challenging them to think more deeply, to view situations from different perspectives, and to cultivate a growth mindset where mistakes are accepted, and in some crazy cases even celebrated!

I am a graduate of Coastal Carolina University, where I earned my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in 2006. I also received my endorsement for Gifted and Talented through Coastal. I have a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction through Grand Canyon University, in addition to a master's in Learning Disabilities through Francis Marion University. I also received my Read 2 Succeed endorsement through FMU. I love going to school and learning new things!

I hope to continue serving the gifted population of Marion County for years to come.
