Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Susan Dew
My name is Susan Dew. I am a third generation Pee Dee Area educator. My mother was a seventh and eighth grade math teacher in Marion for over thirty years. Her mother was a second grade teacher and principal in a two room schoolhouse in Temperance Hill back in the day when she had to start her own fire on chilly morns to keep her students warm. I attended Francis Marion University, Lesley University, and the Palmetto Montessori Institute. I received my BS in Early Childhood Education, a M.Ed. in Creative Arts, an Ed Specialist degree in Early CHildhood Education and I'm also certified in Primary Montessori Instruction. This is my 27th year teaching either kindergarten or first grade. I adore teaching little people and learn from them as often as I can. I am blessed to have two grown sons. My oldest serves as an officer in the United States Army and my youngest is a third year law student at USC. I have three incredible grandchildren. Thankfully I still have both of my precious parents right next door. I am a lifelong learner because of their positive influence and incredible support. Mr. Tim and I love the outdoors and spend as much time as we can enjoying Nature.
Mrs. Gloria Gause is my wonderful assistant. She is the mom of two adult children and is the grandmother of three. She moved here from Miami and we cannot wait to learn all about Florida from her! She is a recent graduate of Coker College and majored in Sociology. She and Mr. Gause live in Mullins and enjoy travelling, sightseeing, and spending time with their grandchildren. We are very fortunate to have her with us this year.
