Quick Guide: Connect School Chromebook to Your Home Wi-Fi

Step 1 — Click the time/clock in the bottom-right corner of the screen

Step 2 — Click the Wi-Fi icon (It may say "No network", "Not connected", or show ☒ or a line through the Wi-Fi symbol)

Step 3 — Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on (If you see a switch, click it so it turns blue/on)

Step 4 — Wait a few seconds — your Chromebook will show a list of available networks

Step 5 — Choose your home Wi-Fi network name from the list (This is the same network name you see on phones, tablets, smart TVs, etc.)

Step 6 — Type your home Wi-Fi password (very important — must be exact — capital letters matter!)

Step 7 — Click Connect

Step 8 — Wait 5–15 seconds You should see the Wi-Fi signal bars appear at the bottom → you’re connected! ✓

 

Quick Troubleshooting Tips

  • Password not working? → Double-check for capital letters / extra spaces
  • Still not connecting? → Turn Chromebook completely off → wait 10 seconds → turn back on
  • Don’t see your network? → Make sure you are close to the router
  • Still having trouble? → Restart your home router (unplug for 30 seconds)

That’s it! Your child should now have internet at home through the school Chromebook.
