Sports Medicine work-based learning/Health Science 1 will allow students to have experiences that provide opportunities for students to enter the workplace to gain skills and knowledge in allied healthcare and sports medicine. This will come through an internship where they apply formal classroom learning to actual work situations. Students’ workplace activities may include working on special projects, sampling tasks from different jobs, and learning tasks related to a single occupation. Internships or clinical rotations also provide opportunities for students to interact with proper role models and learn about appropriate behavior and ethics in the workplace. You will spend the equivalent of nine weeks in the classroom and nine weeks on an internship site. This class will have the opportunity for more individualized work and personalizing what you learn, as well as work on preparing for college and/or career readiness.
